Welcome to the Economic and Trade Cooperation Programme
The primary aim of the Economic and Trade Cooperation (ETC) programme is to contribute, in a non-partisan manner, to the development of an ACP-EU trade regime that promotes sustainable development and the integration of African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries into the world economy. It also works to improve economic governance conditions and to support regional integration. EPAs and Aid for Trade
Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) are an essential component of the trade & development nexus and the momentum for exploring the linkages between trade and development is gaining strength at a multilateral level, as demonstrated by past and ongoing debates and decisions, including the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. Therefore, while continuing to deal with the EPA negotiations, the Economic and Trade Cooperation programme will devote increasing effort to fostering a better informed and timely dialogue on the effective delivery of aid-for-trade accompanying measures to the EPAs and regional integration, with a special attention to market access and aid-for-trade aspects in the agricultural sector.
